The party was mostly good. I only regret that sometimes, I could not hear what people on the other side of the table were talking about. The room was too dark and not quiet enough. It might have been better if we had a round table.
The most important thing is that we need to come up with an action plan after the meeting. We were not just having fun. We had some serious discussions on various issues.

We are working really hard to get our amendments in. Please understand, we are not doing this for fun. We are into this just like you for our green cards. It would really help if we get support instead of having to answer the same questions over and over

AT JFK.
Submitted two copies of AP and passport. I had three copies from USCIS.
Went through US citizen/resident queue and the CBP officer took me to another verification counter.
There were only one other person (Russian). No questions asked. NONE. Verified address and very very informative and friendly CBP officer. Handed both AP with one of them stamped. I have all three copies of AP with me with one stamped.
He advised that every time I travel make sure there is no NOID on my case and my AP is current.

I respectfully disagree, he is the president of USA and to its citizens, you might morally/personally declare him to be your president, but as long as your passport is not from USA you my friend are an alien (not extraterrestrial) living in the US of A :), please dont take this personally I am in the US too, and I got my passport recently renewed, and I had to pledge my allegiance in order to get my passport. I'm trying to post the IV Fliers at my Alumni School.But the issue is we need a 'sign off' from Facilities dept. at school.But again, the policy depends from School to School . Some dont need that at all.So i'm in the Final Process of completing the formalities and it is very simple.Just a simple courtesy phone call to the concerned to make this happen. All the international students are potential members to join IV and contribute to our cause. So i advise all the IV members/Core Members to think out of the Box like these as we have very little time left.but i really envy the Irish Lobby who are way ahead of us.Anyways, we need to bang it out hard or our life is gonna be dormant for lots of time.

I am also in PA and my DL(driving licence) will expire in last of September month and my H1b extension is still pending at California Center . Can i get DL renewed from PENNDOT on the basis of Receipt Notice of H1b Extension and a letter from employer ?

I went thru TSC-EAC-TSC cycle. I did quite a bit of research online :) and found they did approve those cases, if PD is current. So, that shouldnt be a hurdle. Key is make sure you have all the checks are passed and current.

Look, the H1 quota was not sufficient even when it was set at 115,000 pre-2000. It was only when it was set to 195,000 in 2001 that the quota exceeded demand. Now thanks to the report by USCIS last year, we know that about 20% of the H applications had fraud or technical violations. Even if you assume that the USCIS does a perfect job and catches this 20%, the quota that will be freed up won't be enough for the rest of the applicants.

Very unexpectedly, just last year in a hospital, the doctor told me that unless I get operated ASAP, there is not much chance for me to live. As I was still trying to digest that news, I was thinking...

And I really laugh about the whole incident now. And when I see others vent or getting upset about something, I can't help but get a smile. Because I learnt the hard way that we never appreciate what we have got and always complains about what we haven't got.
It's New Year time!! Enjoy and cherish your presence. And forget about the job/visa for a day or two.

Our attorney said one can apply for a renewal even from a different country, the clause that one has to be physically present in US is only for the initial I485 and AP application.
I have applied for AP renewal on June 23rd and am traveling next month to India for 2 months will be back before my current AP expires i.e. Oct 10th. My attorney actually asked me to apply for renewal before I leave for India.
