I did read the post. If you are talking about the marketing dept of an engineering or programming firm, my point applies directly. But even otherwise, Indians have not been identified as a minority in ANY profession in the US. Therefore, diversity does not apply legally for them in ANY field in the US.
What you think is wishful thinking. The law (of affirmative action) is what it is whether you like it or not.
Thats a very narrow way of looking at diversity. Affirmative Action talks more about reservation - certain quota of jobs for a certain category. Thats mandated by law.
Most big corporation have other diversity affinity groups like Asian American (including Indians, Chinese etc.), GLBT, Hispanic etc. Thats also part of diversity, but it is not mandated by law to reserve jobs for those categories.
I am not talking about the legal definition of diversity. I am talking about the thousands of qualified Indians (most with MBAs from top schools in the US) who fail to break the glass ceiling just because of their race/skin color.

People who have applied online...did you get the finger prints notice. We applied on 10/18 and the status is Initial Review. we got the reciept notice in 2 days.
I had applied online in last week September and got approval notice and AP docs last week. I did not have to go for FP. My last FP was done Nov 2007.

When you send the flowers with a note, have a a PURE, NOBLE, OPEN Hearted and SOUL touching FEELINGS WITHIN YOURSELF. When you send the flowers DONOT have HATRED in you mind for USCIS. as they are mere MORTALS, and MORTALS can make MISTAKES.
Our AIM is to drive the message of injustice faced by us (Legal immigrants.) this can be achived only if you have the PURITY of mind and HIGH MORAL AND ETHICAL GROUNDS TO STAND UP TO INJUSTICE.
Our AIM is not to make any one angry, OR TO EMBARASS, if we have that aim then we have a WEAK CAUSE to fight. Certainly we should not just aim to attract Media towards our plight. Let us all face it, media is just not with us, in fact they can make it look like it is a JOKE, and then we have already lost the CAUSE.:(

Any Chineese/asian members in our forum could help us in giving us urls or names of any chineese TV and newspapers in US. We need to contact them in order to get a wider membership, awareness and support from people of all nationalities affected by backlogs and retrogression.
let us know in this forum if

- Any Newspaper in USA read by Chineese in US. (for example Indians have India Abroad newspaper that Non Resident Indians read and is available in every Indian grocery store).

B1 people cannot apply GC but L1 people can apply. But many Indian companies like TCS,INfosys,Wipro are not applying gc but bringing people on L1
We need to force companies to advertise for L1 positions also instead of letting them come on a blanket petition.

If children are in "Status of Adjustment(I-485)" there are not effected by this aged out issue. What do they need when they go to college?? appreciate some pointers??

One thing that most people here do not understand is that Universities have only two different categories for both admissions and Financial Aid: GC or Citizens get normal treatment. Everyone else, whether they are on AOS or H4 or any other status are considered International Students both in selection process and for Financial Aid. It is very simple - International Students are Not Eligible for Any Financial Aid. They will have to pay Full Fee, which is about 50k/yr in good Universities.
If DREAM Act covers Legal Kids, it will cover those in AOS too, which will enable them to get GC before their parents do and be eligible for selection as a local and for the Financial Aid that locals (GC and Citizens) are eligible.
Getting admission in good Universities is extremely difficult as an International Student as they tend to have a separate quota for international students, even though they refuse to admit publicly that they have such quotas.
I know these because my son went through all this last year.
