Hello experts,
here is my situation, I applied AP in 2007 and 2008 and never used it, few months ago when I went to India, I got my H1 stamped, now I am planning to renew my AP is about to expire (my lawyer adviced me to do so), I might change jobs in a few weeks and planning to use EAD and my H1 stamps automatically becomes invalid.
So the questions are: will it be a problem if I apply for AP, will they ask why I used H1 instead to AP to reenter (as part of the docs I will be sending passport and I-94 so they will come to know about my entry).
Has anyone faced similar situation ?

Looks like this is going into the deaf ears of IV core. Upon repeated posts/repeated private messages to nixster and Pappu, they are not caring about those who donated for FOIA cause anymore. They are worried only about "Monthly donors" now. Fine, may be those who all donated for FOIA and not getting updates may need to ask for the refund from IV. I will never ever donate if there is a fund raising campaign for any future issues.
When FOIA funding drive was on, we clarified with core that this drive is for a specific cause. They mentioned that this could cost more than $5K and we extended the drive for 10K.
I wish the data will be published soon to everyone - at lease who contributed for that specific funding drive.

If CIR doesn't get passed by current House in lame duck session. Does it need to be reconsidered and passed again in Senate starting january? Do we need to start over from scratch?

He might feel if it needs to get done he does not want his name attached to that legislation. He has stated that in the past. Interesting to see whether he will listen to the people, and atleast shape policy while he has a say or simply and stubbornly stick to his guns and let the 110th congress do the work.
This has been the problem with the 109th congress across the board. They did not negotiate, they simple followed the majority of the majority rule and to hell with everyone else, this is why they got so little accomplished. That is not the right approach in a democracy and the american people told them that this week.

You do not have to assume. Your case should already be with the Dallas BEC. When your lawyer says she does not know which BEC your case was sent to, she is either not being forthright with you or is completely uninformed.

Did you work during all these 9 years? or were you a student first?
What is 10 year rule? Do you have to work for 10 years to get SS benefits? Do F-1 visa years count if you worked as a student? Where is official description of 10 year rule?
Can one confirm for sure that I'm eligible for SS benefits..(Its been 9 yrs and one more here I can spend to reach that magic figure).
Ok, I'm not much into look at this on pros and cons way..
The strong points for me to get motivated to go back are:
1. Kids...I feel its better for kids grewup in india for the kind of importance we give for education. Its hard to see atleast in my experience the true spirit of competetiveness....the way we had....
2. Career..I worked in india as a lead and manager before coming here...and though no one offered me mgmt jobs here..I'm not ready to take ..due to the facts known to everyone...here we just can't be managers...(not a rule of thumb..)..Now I see better things happening back at home..salaries are amazing....(politics are there no matter where you are)..I'm confortable in saying my savings more or less matches even the kind of income I'm targetting...
3. Life...guys...I don't know how you guys term it in your experience...but I feel sick in cleaning bathrooms and kitchens and doing laundry and ironing...day after day every day....common...we deserve doing much better things..
4. Routine:...guys..Its just routine...nothing changes...monotony kills me...
I don't say things would be rosy there...but...I feel more satisfying in visiting places in india than driving bloody 500 miles around to take photographs..nothing gives you a feeling of belongingness..I am ready to take hardships for the sake of my parents...I want to visit them on demand..vise versa...and quality of life...common guys..we grew up there...don't we enjoy being there till we come here..??..

The only benefit I see with these attorney / their associations is to get them to inform their clients who might be facing similar situation about this movement. However, unless monitary benefit is involved these guys rarely act. But it is worth trying.
I think contacting attorneys is actually a very good idea. Lets come up with a list of attorneys who we all can send emails to address this issue.
One good news for you guys ! I, myself, and couple other people in different forums have contacted our lawyers regarding this Dream Act. They have expressed that this bill's interpretation is left to USCIC but they hinted that they will most likely accept a legal aged out's application as well. If they don't then the methods I posted few days ago, can most likely be used to take advantage of the law. We will know when the bill is passed and when USCIC clarifies it for us. Till then, the best thing we can do is - assume the worst and fight for it !

Yes my whole package including I-140 was send to NSC
This is the same number the IO gave me, I will call today afternoon and find out if they have any other number

Man, that is absurd. $800 per person for a medical. I paid $150 per person + $15 copay for getting vacinations and x-ray done thru primary doctor.
