I wish it was wrong. But it seems to be happening, I heard from a friend who owns a company with 100+ consultants. One consultant form other company that he deals with regularly has been turned away in this manner. That guy was returning from indian trip, who had valid documents including client letters and project. The IO's response was that "We don't have shortage of people like you, we don't need you." His passport was stamped as deported. I really feel sorry for these guys. Sorry guys, it is true.

USCIS should have denied the H1B applications from the companies which they think are incompetent. After being here and worked for some years and all of a sudden denying applications without proper reasons which they didn't find first time is rediculous. People have families and they must have planned things for themselves in this country. Instead they should scrutinize applications for the first time instead of going for lottery system. And they should have a system like the companies must be compliant with some standards something like that sothat people will choose those companies.
Finally prevention is better than cure as you guyz know...no more comments..

Might have happened. IO's have so much power that they can deport anyone at POE for whatever reason. Nothing can be done as the persons are not in USA. But it rarely happens and could be mistake of IO.

I have an approved i140 as of 01/16/2007 , company got sold on 01/31/2007.
Now pD (may 2003)is current and i have to refile i140 with 485 on june 01 2007,

Lets not get personal and negative. It will achieve nothing.
Can I also add another way you can contribute to this event:
4. Spread the message about this event to people outside of IV. I talked to at least 20 people who knew nothing about this but are now looking at the advocacy day thread. What they do from there, I leave it to them.
I would also recommend this - Instead of just forwarding the newsletter, I think its better to write a personal note to your friends/colleagues with a link to the IV thread.

I am yet to receive my card, but last week had an infopass appointment. The field officer said my card has been approved from 10/21/10 to 10/20/12 (CPO mail on 10/22), he also gave me a signed letter stating the same. My current EAD expired on 10/30/10.

Based on my last few visits, on any given flight from India, there are at least 30-40folks with H1 or AP etc. By that measure, that will make a lot of number in a given day for all POEs combined. �and that also from just from 1 country. So obviously those with all documents ARE GETTING in.
So even 5% sent back will be at least 100plus folks sent back every day. There will be a complete uproar if that happens.
I think cases of guys being sent back from POE are too miniscule to jump to conclusions....if at all true.
It is quite possible that those with incomplete docs or with issues (like no job, paystubs to prove) are being more scrutinized and not spared like before....but nothing panicky here for those with all docs.
Personally in my many visits, I never was asked any document. And yes, I used EWR most.

If you were positive on the skin test and xray, and refused treatment, you wouldn't get the form and therefore, wouldn't get a greencard.

whether they are concerned with only a part of it or not, the fact that it appears on their website implies an endorsement of his views. if they are claiming there is a problem with H-1bs, then they need something to fix it, and matloff provides that.
this is exactly why we have to take advantage of it, and say that matloff also suggests this proposal for reform.
by the way, this would greatly benefit new H-1bs since it does not limit them to one employer. when you get out into the workforce you will understand how important that is
personally to me its an eyewash , i would luv to see matloffs reform go through its sounds gud , but by being realistic u gotta realise that nymbersusa aint about that, they'r just smartass's who'll work with what works 4 them, and again our co operation with them is not big enough for the senators to change anything, we'r a small part of the cog, its the corps who get stuff done/undone

Low visa number usage was an issue for a number of years. So something else must have prompted them to make all dates "current" rather than moving them forward a couple of years as the other poster mentioned.:)
