Regardless of your interest income, if your total amount in foreign accounts (ordinary or anything), is greater than $10K, you need to report to IRS.
Reporting foreign Interest income is another thing...
You are correct !!! You need to report at any point in the year, if you had more than 10K in any foreign bank account, you must report / attach the additional form along with Tax filing.
Reporting the interest is another think and some banks (Citibank) does issue a 1099-INT for the NRE account interest earned.

I spoke to the German consulate in Washington DC yesterday and the guy there told me you don't need a transit visa for if you have Advanced Parole.

We dont know USCIS will accept 485 appls between July 2nd filer and july 16th filer.
As per notice on 17th July - They will start from this date to accept application....BUT NOT CLEAR !!! - maybe we are getting this some info related between July 2nd and July 16th filer

The USCIS and DOS statement mentioend they will honor Original July VB...so they have to accept all applications in July....

I did the same except that I used regular white envelopes and cut them to make smaller ones. I wrote the appropriate name on each photograph. I used one envelope per applicant.
I would suggest that you get a small transparent plastic sleeve, put your photographs in it, fold the top of it over the app. form and attach it the application using a paper clip. This is to avoid damage to the photos. Be sure to write your name using a pencil or other on the back of the photos as well as your A#. Unless the form has a space that says affix here, I would follow this when sending in the app.

Can we please analyze and understand why this was removed in the first place? this is a well calculated move on part of both senators, why did they do it in the first place?
The reason I am harping on this, is that in the inception of the problem lies its solution too. If we know exactly why this clause was removed, we can better formulate our strategies around resolving our problem.
There is always a compromise solution in politics, especially if we can potray our value to the American economy and society.
I strongly believe that opposing either bill in its current form will not let us achieve anything. Big corporations who are vocal supporters of immigration reform will support this bill and they are the lifeblood for large election funds.
We need to

2. Come up with a reasonable way to distribute extra GCs among all oversubscribed countries (India, China, Mexico) that takes only the Pri date into account.

b. Gives the US govt. a chance to be fair to everyone.

A service request was generated last Tuesday (11/10) when I had taken the INFOPASS, today I see that the last update on the case has changed from 10/21 to 11/12, but the case status still remains Initial Review. What could this mean, any ideas? Anybody had a similar experience before, is it likely to approved?

B1 people cannot apply GC but L1 people can apply. But many Indian companies like TCS,INfosys,Wipro are not applying gc but bringing people on L1

Business community, Hospital, University are pushing H1B/EB issue very hard for Lame Duck. Remember, this is a very serious effort. Either GOP or Dems are not efford to make big bussinesses unhappy as presidential election is approaching.
Although chances are slim for Lame Duck, but anything can happen. I am little bit optimistic that may be we will have some intrim relief in Lame Duck. Cross the fingers !!

For some reason we are continuing to ignore the possibility that they may call upfronto refuse the delivery... We need to make sure that FTD atleast takes all the flowers to the office. Any refusal to accept will have to happen at the office. This will provide us with atleast a photo opportunity. Can the person coordinating FTD deliveries please make sure that FTD atleast takes the flowers to the office irrespective of whether USCIS calls them. Otherwise we will be asking FTD for a refund....

That's right, but there got to be a path somewhere for those already in the system regardless of the cut-off dates. The road to establishing the cut-off dates for those already in the system is full of peril. Firstly all those in the system have paid for processing/filing fees (FB and EB both, with the exception for Labor Certification). When they filed such application there was no mention of any such cut-off dates, if the law has been changed in the middle they are entitled to refund of the filing fees which will run into millions of dollars. But money isn't the only issue this will open legal avenues for people in the country (esp EB) seeking other damages in excess of filing fees. If will be extremely hard if not impossible for USCIS to establish a cut off date for people already in the system and apply laws to them retroactively. But again I wonder how come they come up with such a wording. Anything possible though !!!
On the other hand cut-off dates can be established easily for undocumented, there are not in the system and hence any arbitrary date can be chosen.
There is a precedence of a similar case when Canadian Immigration system changed the points in the middle (Circa 2002) and applied it based on a cut-off dates. Right after the law went into affect law suits start flying and they have to treat the old application with the OLD laws. I am not saying this will happen here in US, but I am quite sure people in the system will be treated with the older laws or some sort of stop gap measure. As far as fewer visa numbers (90,000) are concerned that can happen without raising many eyebrows.
The thing is, that is not the only cut-off date in the bill. There are other cut-off dates for other things.
For family based, if you filed for Family based FB1, FB2, FB3, FB4, your file with be processed with 567,000 annual quota if the petition was filed before May 1st 2005. Otherwise it will be processed under a new lowered quota and under the merits system, depending on the relationship of family.
So the dates are used to divide pending petitions and direct them into one system or another. Its not acting retroactively, its subjecting petitions before and after certain date differently.

Adjudication is a continous process for uscis it is happening everday if visa # is available. I donot agree your IF...and explanation of SMART (If USCIS is smart they would not act till September bulletin is published around Aug 12th so that they get the time to adjudicate all cases till September 30th before EB-2 India gets retrogressed again).
No govt agency works that way.
You will see approvals right away from Aug Ist for "ripe" and 'Low hanging fruits (your 1 and 2)'. Sure everbody is anxious and interested in interpretions but stressed out....may be not.

I just went to German consulate at San Francisco and applied for a ATV for my wife. My wife is traveling to India on last week of May. The lady at the counter told that the rules have changed and if you are using AP you need a ATV. She also mentioned that it will take 3-4 days for issuing the visa. Thanks to OP for bringing this to attention.
