Why you guys are panicing about that is still being debated??
Because if the bill being debated in current form becomes law without any amendments to change the effective date (May 21 2007), all after that date will be screwed.

As per the new Bulletin, EB3 PD is June/2003.
My already approved I-140 PD is Nov/2002. I guess now I don't worry too much about this EB2 I-140 approval anymore

Subject : Requesting your attention to certain aspect of Border Security Bill
Dear Congressman ....
I am ...., your constituent and resident of city of ..... Congressman,
its disturbing to learn this aspect about Border Security to me especially because I am
specially skilled foreign worker. Please, find this news in the link below :
AFP: US Senate passes border security boost (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hpS6ZKo4wAryQNsBY9i7PxjF3F7g)
Border Security, is no doubt high priority issue for America and needs to be
addressed. But the means of addressing it by increasing fees on employers hiring foreign workers who come to work here, pay taxes, contribute to economy and community can be anything but being fair to them. These skilled workers are hired
for a reason which makes and keeps employers and America as a country competitive.
Keeping country competitive is an area that bears no logical relationship to border
security. The foreign workers form a very small fraction of the entire US work force.
Isolating and scapegoating them(their employers and inturn the employees) with a national
problem only demonstrates the level of competitiveness (and heroism) of the lawmakers in Washington to tackle a problem, let alone ethics. Congress seems to never have foreign workers in mind, when it comes to working on clearing immigration backlog for these highly ignored set of people. One wonders what makes them remember these workers now ? Or may be is that the way it works - if workers dont keep waiting for decades then how will border security get funded. Given the reputed history of this
great country for immigrants, all these developments focused towards foreign workers
is quite a revelation.
Mr. Congressman, my intent behind writing you this mail was to shed light on the moral
aspect of this bill. Considering all facts, whether to support this bill or not is
ultimately determination made by the conscience of an individual.
Thank you for your time Mr. Congressman.
Your's sincerely,
.....

Good job guys. I posted something in support of ACLU petition. Moderators deleted it. Sometimes, you ought to try from different angles. You can not go in one path alone to guarantee success. ACLU was just another stone to get the job done.

I do not understand why people have to wait for IV to "endorse it"
If you think this is right, just go ahead and send it.
A lot of them are sending the flowers and have not heard/care about the IV or the polls
The idea is to get this message across to the USCIS. The email chains that are circulating is doing this already
If the amount of $30-$40 is too much, at-least send a get-well soon or a sympathy card to the USCIS

Most of the American companies won't hire from India or other international locations. Consulting companies are catering to this need of american businesses where they want the candidate in US. They do a pre-screening of the candidates and make sure they are good for US job market. BTW many of these consultants are highly competitive. Otherwise they won't survive in US job market.
Majority of us won't be here if it were not for these consulting companies. I don't think there is anything wrong with consulting firms. Many of you who graduated from US universities were hired just for the fact that you were already present in US. ( also thanks to the tie-ups of businesses with universities)
It does not make sense for USCIS to ask for client positions from prospective candidates when they go for stamping.
Thats incorrect...Lot of major corporations hire from different locations in the world...I have several friends working at a s/w giant in Seattle area who were directly hired in Russia, India, Singapore, etc...

Is your nebraska or texas? paper or electronic?
Did you have to give any medical reasons for emergency or other reasons were enough?
I am in similar situation, so hoping we all get it soon.
its Nebraska and paper, we had medical reason.
The officer sent a mail to the lady who is assigned my case, but don't know how long she will take to look into my case. Even the officer said the same as he is also not sure of the time to review the case.
And one more thing we learnt is, Phoenix center where we sent the application is just a lockbox, what all they do is to collect the applications cash the money and sent them to the respective centers ... hope this helps.
I would suggest you guys to do e-filing of applications which would be faster

At this time we have created a tool for our members to compare both data provided by USCIS and see its results. The basic difference is as follows:
FOIA / USCIS
EB2C- 4111 / 19,333
EB2I - 9117 / 47,728
EB2M - 26 / 211
EB2P - 82 / 510
EB2R - 1716 / 7,150
EB3C - 1166 / 6,343
EB3I - 8681 / 62,607
EB3M -- 657 / 7,878
EB3P 1624 / 11,563
EB3R - 5779 / 62,840
Thank you for your support
Team IV
The two sets of data are off by an order of magnitude (or more)!!! How incompetent can the USCIS be that they publish two sets of data with such large discrepancies??!!
Seriously, words fail me...maybe this will help express myself better... ^$#&%$(*^%#@!$#@%)!!!
Estimates (just for kicks) by the two methods are as far apart as over 2yrs!
Anyways, it is a start - there is some hazy view now vs. absolute darkness before - certainly kudos to IV's efforts for this.
Good luck to everyone!

AFP: US Senate passes border security boost (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hpS6ZKo4wAryQNsBY9i7PxjF3F7g)
A summary of the bill said the funds would be raised with a 2,000-dollar per visa increase in the price paid by specific companies for non-immigrant "H1B" visas for highly skilled workers or "L" visas for intracompany transfers.
"We're talking about foreign companies that more than half of their employees" are on those visas, said Schumer. "All we're saying is, you're going to have to pay more for those visas."
"This is not going to affect American manufacturing. This is not going to affect American jobs. What it's going to do is hopefully create some vacancies for Americans at some of these higher skilled jobs that these companies -- foreign companies -- are using the visas," he added.
Dream on socialists !
