Personally I think these processing dates are crap , It use to be valuble before July-07 but not any more.
I think if CIS use computers and run a small query they know how many cases are pending which fall under processing dates
The only advantage with the dates is opening SRs, which dont have any value and complete waste of time.
My EB3 140 was filed on July 5 th 2007 at NSC and transfered to TSC on April 07 08 , for TSC 140 processing dates are Aug 26 07 . I guess they have their own rules for transfer cases .
CIS is giving preference to priority date current cases as they need to use the numbers, all others are in limbo .

Project_A - Were you able to file eb2 and got approval after completing online MS ? Also how does uscis treat online MS compared to full time MS for eb2 approval ?

Meeting at hindu center in flushing on Sun evenings would not work so well due to the prayers being held during Sun evenings at the temple. I think we should poll people on when it's most conveninent for them to meet and go from there...

One of the primary things that you are missing here is that these competitions are just competitions - meaning - it brings the kids together in a national forum, lets them compete with one another and helps build this competitive spirit - which they may repeatedly in their lifetime.
Being able to participate in a national competition boosts confidence - the sense of competition and wanting to excel is totally a transferable skill - it rekindles the parts in you (or a kid) that they are not aware existed before they competed.
As for whether this is a right forum to post this, I have seen worst things posted here on IV.

just my opinion..but festive occasions bind us as a community and yes that includes Eid and Christmas and the Chinese new year.
Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil, let's hope we can all bask soon in a festival of lights by getting some relief from retrogression....
actually...and this is just me nitpicking now...Diwali is technically a Hindu festival not an Indian festival (since 20% of Indians are not Hindu), so the complaint may be more accurate if you point to the religious aspect...
Of course it is widely celebrated in India...and the UK and going by the White house greetings and the huge melas ...in the US :-)

USA has certainly benefited from having different cultures live together side by side (within the realm of a common civil and criminal law). Suppression of cultures is more in tune with the ertswhile Soviet policy of suppression of various cultures (Georgian, Ukrainian, the list goes on); and we all know what happpened to Soviet Russia.
There is no reason potential legal immigrants of different faith should not open a new thread to wish people of fellow faith on commonly celebrated festivals. There is no great reason to pursue political correct speak to the degree where you would have to create a common greeting message if we want to wish "Happy Diwali" to fellow Hindus.
People of different faiths certainly have the freedom to post a similar message. After all the pool of potential legal immigrants is far and wide.
And I would certainly be happy for fellow Chinese, Muslims, Chrisitians, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Native Americans, Mexicans, Portuegese, Spanish, Greeks, Albanians, Croats, Serbs, Basque, Irish, SriLankan, Bangladeshis, Eritreans, Ethiopians, Somalis, Germans, French, Bralizians, Colombian, Ecuadarean, Argentinians, Chilean, Haitians, West Indians (the list is incomplete mind you) when somebody from their community puts up a message wishing their fellows the arrival of a happy community event.
The voice of these communities is the "Voice" of "Immigration". It would be foolhardy to try to suppress this voice in favor of political correct speak.
We are all working toward the same goal (pursuit of happiness); denial of one's culture and simple traditions is not in tune with this pursuit.
Just my 2 cents.

USCIS people are too loaded with work to start rejecting applications for such trivial matters.
The instructions say this "NOTE: Please spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials "USDHS" or "DHS.""
You have written the most important words, atleast u did not abbreviate!
Also remember there is NO OTHER "department of homeland security" in the world. Check has gone to USCIS office. They know u mean US, even if u did not write it.
So I am confident that their banks will cash your check. Keep a watch on your bank online. Texas cashed our checks in 7 days and also sent receipt. Dont know how Nebraska is doing. Call USCIS in 1-2 weeks if they did not cash checks.
Worst case they will send the application back. You can then quickly fix the check and resend application. Hopefully if you have applied in time, then a delay of 1-2 weeks does not matter.

As I mentioned in my post, I had a resident Indian A/C - account that was opened when I was legally a resident Indian (salary a/c incidentally). No way it can be confused with one of N/RE/O accounts. I had INR in my account. It was wired over to my account here in the US, I got $s. Simple. If you look through the link that I posted, ICICI's instructions are quite clear - you can say family maintenance as a good reason.

Well, I like you because you are just a straight shooter. If you are such a straight shooter then let me do some straight talk, so just catch this.
Your American mid-size company or Desi small size or super size company will get $180/hr but you will not get even $50/hr from the same client even when you go direct. So no matter how "highly-skilled" you think you are, your non-compete argument is not good enough for you not to be able directly market yourself, because there are gazillion other companies using BI, Cognos, BO, Informatica, Datastage and every similar crap. You can impress a few people by naming some technologies that maybe hot but they don't mean a &hit if you market them yourself. Here is why. A lot of people blame the lack of GC as a reason to be exploited. That is part of the problem. The other part of the problem is that most hiring managers in large companies get commission from these small, mid-size or large American, Desi or European consulting companies. That's why in most cases they always hire through one of these companies. They will not hire directly because the manager thinks you to be a stingy desi, and if he hires you directly the hiring manager will not see a dime, so why will he hire you directly? This is a big cycle of corruption and everybody is part of it including lawmakers who get contributions from lobbyist/representatives of these small, mid and large size companies. You think lawmakers don't know what is going on? You think client doesn't know that you make 85K when the middle company get $180/hr? You think the big-bosses at the company/client doesn't know that the hiring managers are getting favors from middle companies? You think lawmakers doesn't know that immigrant worker waiting for long delayed GC is bonded to an employer that buys employee retention insurance policy for the employer? They all know it. But you see every player in this movie, you, your hiring boss at the client site, the middle company, the lobbyist, the lawmaker and many more, they are all being paid from that $180/hr which you think that you are entitled for because you know Oracle BI and Congnos. EB3 (I) have been hit hard there should be some effort to get the ball rolling, and I fail to understand why EB2 (I) should get offensive about this effort. EB2 is going to get what they get anyway, but EB3 guys might get somewhere if this kind of concentrated effort is made.
I beleive EB2 will not be affected by this effort, if we draw enough attention we all EBs will get our GC sooner than later.

How about contacting other already established organisations like ATA, TANA, DTA,BATA, Kannada kutami etc for help? All these organisations are formed by immigrant people from different states in India. They have a huge membership. We can rise funds and memberships by highlighting and explaining our problems. Is there any one pager or document that can be sent to all these orgs and asking them for help in funding as well as political drives?
