These guys might meet you and greet you in WMT. Once it happened, the guy's wife met my wife and complimented her that "Ooh you have a sweet little boy!" and that's how the convesation started with my wife and then with me. The guy told me he runs his "ecommerce business". Next day he calls us for tea to discuss "ecommerce business" , I became suspicious and charged him "Are you running Amway?" He said there is nothing wrong in running Amway business and I had a heated argument with him over this as to why he did not tell me earlier.
So thats it - nowadays they have adopted a different strategy!

it was me against all of them -my question was simple-why don't you answer all my questions regarding how this works and just keep telling me to have 'trust' in them!

PlainSpeak - instead of spending so much time on responding to everyone's criticism of you, why dont you go ahead and detail out the "how" of "what" you think IV should do.
Maybe there is a gap in the understanding of all the posters here in terms of "how" all what you have said will pan out.
Please be specific around who, when, to whom and using what means can the "what" of your proposition be accomplished. And while you are at it, it will also be useful to lay out how and which of the activities you could personally be of help (by devoting time/ money/ energy/ All/ Some Combination).

Only if i think at least 25 % of all you senior abusive member even agree in principle with what is being proposed. Heck my idea is for releif for EB retrogressed persons and all i get from all you senior memebers and donors is oh he is lazy skill less eb3 and he is doing it to get his creen card and other comments and everyone is all about lets bash this person and oh wow she is a gal so lets do some crude women joke (There was a guy ealier who talked about proper up bringing. I filed for 485 during July 2007. My 140 was already approved. Due to some problems I quit my employer in August 2007. My previous employer was a desi blood sucker. I was fed up & decided to quit after working for him for 3 years. I applied for H1 transfer with a new employer based on approved 140. I got H1 approval for another 3 years. Currently I am working for the new H1 sponsoring employer. I also received an EAD card based on pending 485 for one year. I didnt notify USICS of job change in July.
I applied for EAD extension this year. The application for EAD extension is pending. I got a following RFE on my 485:
Please state whether or not you are currently working for your I-140 petitioner.
You must submit a currently dated letter from you permanent employer, describing your present job duties & position in the organization, your proferred position (if different from your current one), the date you began employement & the offered salary & wage. The letter must also indicate whether the terms & conditions of your employement based visa petition (or labor certification) continue to exist.
I am not in good terms with my previous employer so I cant ask him for a letter. I can ask my new employer for such a letter.

Poll is ok, but what about our voting rights? Many countries allow citizens to use proxy vote / vote by mail to exercise their rights... I remember that there was a bill in 2006 on the floor of parlement to allow this for NRI's and Congress party was dead against such a bill due to some reason... Not sure what happened after that...
Its rediculous that about a million folks in this country and many more around the world, (I believe 30 million or so NRI's in total) are deprived of their fundamental contitutional right to vote, well a small portion compared to total population. Its unfortunate.

In the past three years; I have seen an administrative assistant get sponsored as a skilled worker; a cook making $8.50 as a specialty cook at an Indian restaurant; 8 phillipinos getting sponsored as cooks with a wage of $9.00 at a restaurant; a convenience store clerk; (from reading administrative appeals decisions; i have seen a driving instructor, horse trainer, etc.). All of these jobs fit into a definition of "skilled worker" and share same eb3 category as professional.
In fact I guess most of the April 2001 245(i) cases are also getting through the Eb3 category...I thought that they would get into the EB3 Other workers category with the 10 K cap........ I guess many of the cases you are referring to must be the 245(i) cases...
As I remember, even when I came to US the first time in 2000, I was interviewed quite rigorously...They made me submit degree certificate and experience certificates and all...

I am not saying that the AP cannot be used again, but it cannot be used after the Validity on the AP which is 1 year from the Issue date and the date on the I-94 doesn't have any meaning.
For example
My AP was issued on Oct 18th 2007 and I can use it to travel till Oct 17th 2008. But people are saying that they are issued an I-94 with a date which is 1 year from the date they enter/use the AP.
But my concern is that I was issued an I-94A which doesn't have any date on it. Should I be concerned about that?

USCIS is already did the ground work required to Use up all the left over visas. I am assuming based in the following theory
1) We have seen in the past in USCIS director interview ( i do not have the link for this) that USCIS and DOS is working closely ( This was lacking in the past) to approve as many cases as they can to use maximum VISA number.
2) By looking at the approvals from last 4 months, who ever i know whose PD's were current got their GC's.This indicates that USCIS is working efficiently then it was before to Use up all the VISAS.
3) Lastly i assume that DOS was moving the dates for EB2 consistently for last three visa bulletins and we all know that for August (last Quarter) it has moved by 2yrs+ (DOS and USCIS waited till last quarter to do this which makes more sense),I believe the reason behind this to use all the Visa Numbers and approve as many cases as they can.
This what i am assuming by looking at the recent VB movement and GC approvals.

My friend works for Deloitte & Touche and they charge $550/hr and he gets $75/hr.. so what? And he is USC.
Do you know the rates top consulting company charges? they normally starts from $400/hr+ in Accenture, PWC, KPMG, E&Y Etc and their employee's do not get paid more than 20%. Its a practice around the world.
I used to work for Big 4. I didn't care what they charged the client, I got a handsome salary with great benefits, 4 week vacation, cell fone, air card and perdiem.
Who pays 30K per annum? TCS used to pay 50K in late 90s. Are you kidding me? Who pays 30K. My friend who works for desi dalla gets 4K per month in hand after paying 900 insurance for his familiy.

Basically, my question is it worth the trouble trying to get a GC if you are a canadian citizen?

This does not make sense at all.. cases are a miniscule portion of actual USCIS approvals and a rate of 30 cases per month would mean most of USCIS personnel are on vacation for summer :)

Love to see narendra modi as PM but I know that's far from happening. I would bet on LK for now.
NaMo will certainly CHANGE India for sure in a positive way in all aspects. In my opinion, he has another 10 more years to go before he becomes PM. I have very high hopes for him.
A politically active friend once told me (The quote touched me very much), if NaMo manages to stay alive for another 10-15 years, he will certainly be PM of India and that will be the start of India returning to golden ages.

Now, what would really be effective is for our own people that are already naturalized and integrated and assimilated and digested in the US system to stand up for our cause.
Please, do this for us seniors. As citizens and permanent residents, your voice will be effectively heard. Case in point - legislation on re-uniting families. To begin with, family based has nearly 60% more visas than employment based and nearly 80% of the visas available are exempt from per-country limits. And yet, the politicians want to reform family based immigration process because the people at the receiving end are their citizens. There is nothing wrong with it because the wait-time for extended family members are really long too which is a shame. But you see, there are bills that are actively discussed and passed in that category i.e fundamental solutions are being explored.
Why is Mr. Bobby Jindal and likes of him not taking up our cause actively? People use their "humble-background" in campaign times. Why do they fail in holding out a helping hand to people that are stuck in such "humble-background"? Do you see such apathy in other minority communities?
