since you are going to be an entrepreneur on EAD, your circumstances are kind of special (i.e. a GC or citizen entrepreneur doesn't have the extra baggage we carry). so u can join your state chapter in addition to the SBA.

Disagreements are the essence of Democracy. I don't mind disagreements. My intention is not to setup an organization with autocratic leadership, but a forum open for discussion and new ideas. We do have to respect the bye-laws of the IV organization and maintain forum etiquette. Other than that I have no issues with anyone disagreeing with me or pointing out where I went wrong. I appreciate such constructive criticism which is accompanied by participation.

They looked at their document and with face that look cynical said that Walawala and his wife are 'ONLY' worker that come to this country and threathened they could have done something to harm their status. For EAD ,the documentation is pretty simple and straightforward.
Please goto USCIS site and take a look at I765 form and the associated instructions. Once you spend 15 minutes on that, you will have most questions answered yourself. For the ones you have doubts, please post back.

Stock options work like this
If a company gives you 100 shares at 10$ each that means you have the option to buy them by the expiry date at 10$ each.
So if within the expiry date they reach to 15$ you can buy them at 10$ and sell at 15$ getting a net profit of 5$ per share ( 500$ )
In your case the share price is below what you will have to buy the shares at . So no use. You will be losing money in case you decide to sell them.
Although if you think the share price is going to rise in the future you can buy them and hold them long term until the share price rises above 30 and you make some good money .

I entered US in 2001 on H1B and have not left the country since then. Unfortunately within few months of coming to US, I had a fight with my wife and was charged of domestic violence. This charge was later reduced and I was convicted of a simple battery.
Now if I travel overseas and come back on AP (I intend to use my approved AP instead of going for H1B stamping), can I be denied entry to US at port of entry because of my criminal charge?
Anyone in the same situation or know someone in this situation? Was there any issue in there re entry into US?

We can either take the approach that IV is for all legal immigrants, criminals or otherwise. Or we can say that we have to draw the line somewhere. This is a decision we have to take as a community. Are there any IV Members out there who are current this month (May 2011) and still waiting for their approval email / notification / GC?
I am guessing that everyone who is current this month is already approved by now and his/her visa number (along with dependents visa) is already accounted for by USCIS.

I am contacting them and will march with them. If undocumented get a bill, our bill will come automatically. We should be supporting them. If we support them they will also support us. With their support we can get our bill. If we try to do a rally for ourselves the so called educated people on H1B and EAD will not come. They will rather spend time driving in their nice car to Disney or eat out in a fancy restaurant. So I believe we need to side with undocumented and help them to help ourselves.

This due to increased fee coming to effect after July.
The increased fee went in on July 31, 2007 and as far as I know, no relief in fee was provided to naturalization applicants unlike I-485 applicants till Aug 17. Still many naturalization applications were filed in Aug 2007.
Looks like the I-485 wave swept the naturalization applicants too :)

Every time you use your credit card they ask for photo ID.
I know! Thats why I posed this thread. Today I was buying a sandwich and when I passed my credit card the guy asked for a photo ID since I have "see ID" on the back of the card. I didnt have my passport with me so I couldn't present him anything but my student ID. He goes "thats not valid". So I told him the story and then I said "come on, if I had stolen this card do you think I would do: buy a sandwich for $7.68 or go to Tiffany's right now". He laughed and charged it :)

I was also in limbo whether to apply AP now or no. My current AP is valid till Mid Jan 2009 And I am travelling india in Oct and will be back on 1st week on Nov. I decided not to apply AP now and will be applying renewal in mid Nov. Applied only EAD renewal.
But my H1 extension approval is still pending. Not sure it will get approved by 1st week of Oct. If I happen to use the current AP do they give i-94 only till Jan 09 ( i.e my AP validity) or for 1 year ?
