TSC processing times for Feb is out.
I-485 has advanced to 18th July 07.

Any idea with whats going on with TSC Processing times, my PD is current Nov' 2003, however do not see any movement in the processing times, 485 applied on Aug 7, 007, any idea when they will publish the new processing times? Any way we can know where we are in the 485 proccess?

U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents (LPR) of the U.S. who are pre-approved, low-risk travelers are eligible to participate in the Global Entry Program, which allows expedited clearance upon arrival from international travel. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) began their pilot system on June 6, 2009, in seven airport locations throughout the United States. Beginning August 24, 2009, the Global Entry Program will expand the program to include kiosks at 13 additional international U.S. airports including airports in Boston, Massachusetts; Dallas, Texas; Detroit, Michigan; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Honolulu, Hawaii; Las Vegas, Nevada; N.J.; Orlando, Florida; Sanford, Florida; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Juan, Puerto Rico; San Francisco, California, and Seattle, Washington.

Hi,
My 485 status on USCIS site is showing Document production or Oath Ceremony. The status changed on 7/8/2010. What does this status mean. Does this mean approval? How long does it take to recieve the actual card once the case enters to this state.

On 28 November 2008, "the United States" as defined for purposes of the Immigration & Nationality Act (INA) just got bigger, with the addition of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Although there are probably wrinkles I have not yet read in the treaty, this essentially puts the CNMI on the same footing as Puerto Rico. Here's the cute part:
Because the CNMI will become part of the "United States" as defined by �101(a)(38) of the INA, "residence or presence in the CNMI before 28 November 2009 shall NOT be considered residence or physical presence within the USA for INA purposes. Thus, on 29 November 2009, all persons physically present in the CNMI are considered "to be present in the United States without inspection, by operation of law."
Will these PWIs (present without inspection) be eligible to adjust status? Unclear? Are they working "abroad" for purposes of L visas? Yes, as it turns out. One thing is clear: Legal Permanent Residents (so-called "green" card holders) who wish to base a naturalization application based on physical presence in the CNMI will NOT be able to do so for pre-29 November 2009 periods of time. Dear Core Team,
Can you please indicate on the site if there are any bills (pending or otherwise in both the house and senate) that can get renewed focus or revived that would offer some sort of relief to the current situation of unavailability of visa numbers in the employment based green card process. I strongly feel that the current momentum and attention being drawn by the DOS/CIS update can be used to urge congress to pass some interim measure outside of CIR. That is where in my opinion should IV's focus be at this juncture. If and when you post anything on the site, i and other IV members i'm sure shall begin calling house reps. and senators to urge them for bringing the bill to the floor so that it provides relief to hundreds of thousands of legal immigrants.

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) strongly urges Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to veto a bill moving rapidly through the state legislature that would make it a crime to be an undocumented immigrant in the state.
In addition to the absurdity of aligning undocumented status with state trespassing, the law also validates racial profiling as a legitimate law enforcement tool which is precisely the reason why individuals and businesses around the country are beginning to seriously question whether Arizona is a safe place to visit, live, or do business.
The bill also creates a private right of action for any person to sue a city, town, or county for not enforcing immigration laws to the full extent of federal law and it establishes civil penalties for the city, town, or county. This subjects local governments to unreasonable and potentially frivolous litigation by private citizens with an anti-immigrant agenda. Even if a municipality is vindicated in court, it will still have to incur the costs of defense.
The problems with this bill are monumental and the consequences will be devastating to the citizens of Arizona and the state's already fragile economy. At last glance, Arizona was in the throes of a massive budgetary crisis. Arizona's economy simply cannot afford to absorb the costly litigation that this ill-conceived legislation will certainly produce. Moreover it sets a bad example for other states to pass similar bills. Already other states like Ohio and Utah are entertaining similar legislation. My current H1 B expires on July 31 2011. With this I will be exhausting my renewals quota as my sponsoring company Wipro has not initiated GC process. Also when my last renewal was done, a mistake was done by Wipro Visa office. My first entry to US was in Aug 2004. After that I had gone out of US in Aug 2005 for 1 month vacation and returned in Sept 2005. Each time when we file for extensions, we give all the entry and exit dates. The Wipro visa office had incorrectly entered my first entry into US as Sept 2005 even though it should have been Aug 2004. Based on this they renewed my petition till July 31 2011. If we calculate now, it turns out to be the seventh year on H1. When I tried to change my employer this year, they looked at these details and informed that if I start GC process now, they will definitely calculate my dates and find out that I am in the 7th year of H1 without GC initiation. So they told it will cause issues and it would be better for me to leave the country after July 31 2011, wait for 1 year, sponsor a new H1 and then come back.
Is there any alternative I have here? Thanks for offering help.

When I went to my county health dept to get vaccination shots (for medical exam), they asked me to see the civil surgeon first, "else you will pay lot more for shots that you do not need". I gave them the standard list (MMR, Polio, DTaP, Influenza type B, Hepatitis B), and there are a few more in (page 3 of) I-693 form (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693.pdf). Someone on this thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5553) (second-last post) says you may need a shorter list based on your age group. Did anyone recently take these shots, and can she/he give the correct list here?

I only took TDaP (Adacel) shot. For MMR, Hepatitis B and Chicken Pox I had a blood test which showed that I am immune. You do not need polio shot.

Hello guys,
I came to US to pursue masters, and have started working on H1b while working on my thesis in parallel. Meanwhile my advisor did not get his tenure approved, and had to leave the university. So I had to abandon my thesis work, and had to register for extra courses. My employer and the client I work for are okay to let me go to university for 2 months, but my employer did not pay me for the period (no paystubs for this period). So my year-end wages fell short of the LCA amount.
I know that unpaid leave is not legal while on bench, but since I took the leave while I was actually on a project, does anybody think mine is a genuine case, if there is any such thing??
I am looking to go for stamping, and is really urgent

I am july 2nd filer , received by R.Williams at NSC and still dont have EAD so I took infopass appointment as my case status still shows pending. I did fingerprints about 2.5 months back. I was told in the infopass that my case is still pending so if i do another set of fingerprints, my case would come up to grab attention of the staff at NSC. So, they did fingerprinting again and lo, i saw 2 luds on the 765 yesterday and today , am I really going to get EAD soon or did the infopass uscis guys just fool me and take the fp just to pretend they did something on my case, anybody else faced this, pls respond.
Is finger printing required for EAD? We got our EADs without any FP. No FP notice yet?

It will great help if some body can help regarding this.
I had my H1B from A Company,Recently i have moved to B Company where i was asked to go to UK for Business purpose.I have yet to have stamping from B Company.I still have valid visa till end of next year from Company A name stamping in the passport.Will there be any issues for comming back from UK without having stamping.
