Thanks for your suggestion. But the problem is its not that simple. Here is why. If the same individual create multiple IDs on IV and post using multiple IDs, one for posting derogatory comments and others that are not derogatory, we can keep mum to a point, but then it just gets too frustrating. Like in this case, madhuvj and GCStatus is the same person posting from the same machine but posting as if you are two different individuals. Hence my posts. Please stop this and email/pm us your phone number and we will start the transition process. We are sure you will do a better job than us.
You see, just like everyone else, we also have limited number of hours in a day. We can either spend our time looking at who is using multiple forum ids to post similar messages creating a false impression for other forum visitor, like the one projected in 'if i can be blunt' thread, or we can spend our time doing better things. what makes you think that EB3 are just graduates only? i worked in top 3 telecom company with B.tech+ 8 years experience before joining that company as full time employee in 2000 Jan. they started by GC process in JAn 2001.
but they have a company policy that all will be filed as EB3 no matter what. i have my colleagues who have masters from US, but still EB3. what do you say ?
what pisses me off is today i have more than 15 years of experience in IT , (yes Information technology only) and still in the line with EB3.
I'm happy that atleast EB2 is moving but at the same time there must be a balance for EB3 as well. that's all my point

I have filed for H1B under the Masters quota but i will be graduating only in May and gave an official document from my University that i would be graduating. Somebody i know had also done a similar thing but he got a h1B rejection mail from USCIS yesterday. This has made me really upset. Is anyone there who has filed with a similar document and has received H1B? He had filed it witha consultant while mine is a highly reputed company. Will that make a difference?

I didnot started this thread not blame anyone. Everyone knows IV is our only hope....sorry if it hurt someone.
All I wanted convey is that the current visa bulletin is an opportunity (just like jul 07), IV should try to take advantage of it. They made a mistake by putting in writing that USCIS can not estimate, lets use it to our full advantage.
Lesser mortals like myself can not do much...but surely IV core can.
IV core or state chapter leads are none other than "Once upon a time normal visitors to the website" - there are lot of members who are highly dedicated to the cause.
It will be great if people like you would not put yourself down and call yourself "less mortals". Even if you print out 25 flyers and put them in grocery stores - you have done something for IV. Contribute in every possible way. it is the collective effort that matters.
Join a state chapter and convey your willingness to do something - IV will know that you are there and can/will do what you can/will. Then IV can channelize your contributions in best possible way.
You are as much as any other member.

Understood dude, but the fact, Iam not questioning anyone's contributions here. Please understand one thing, I did not even question other members in this forum. It all started when i asked Admin2, What post accused admins in the "If i could be little blunt" thread. I did not even utter a single word or question him ? If you want you can ask Admin2. It is only after he said MadhuVJ and GCStatus are the same. I started this argument. Because to me, it was rubbish. Eversince, Iam only trying to clear this thing up. Who would have been benefitted? YOU and ME and NOT Admin2.
There are already several threads with EB3/EB2. All of us have our own day time jobs. Let us knot focus on fighting among ourselves. Let us not even fight with USCIS. What we want is that lawmakers and USCIS should understand our problems and make them realize that US will benefit by giving us GC's and not vice versa.
In the past 2 years, I have just 50 postings. All of them are either confirming calls to law makers or contributions. This I am writing to plead you stop these fightings. We have had enough in the past 2 years.

Do you happen to know anyone who has been granted visa with this document saying that the student has completed all the degree requirements? Also, if I get another document from my University can I add it to the file I have already submitted to immigration?

Hi, I'm very tensed. I applied for H-1B under master CAP. I have finished all degree requirements including depositing PhD thesis. However, at the time of filing I could not wait for a letter from the registrar (it takes 5 business days).
So, I filed with a letter from my dept. The letter has the letterhead of the university and states that I completed all degree requirements and will graduate May 13th. It is signed by the dept associate dean.
Would that suffice? Could the petition be denied?
I have seen some denials but all for ppl who hasn't actually completed all requirements at the time of filing.
The petition was filed under regular processing, VSC. I got a receipt notice dated April/24. Online status still shows case pending.

Immigration Voice should take up this issue with USCIS. Those who came to US after 2007 should get PD of the date they applied for transfer of Labor OR applied for 140. Other wise it is abuse of law.
I am reviving this old thread because it was created by me, and it is highly relevant now. I predicted last month that EB2-I will become "U" soon, and it has happened (almost).
The quick way out of this mess is to ask CIS to move subst labor folks back in the queue. That will ensure that both EB3-I and EB2-I will move forward to July 07. Most of the labor substitution took place in that month itself.
This is an admin fix and does not require any new legislature. This is an idea whose time has come.

As gc_check explained, all EB2 with PD<2007/7 will get the green card 2 years earlier if this can be fixed. I do not understand why IV can not discuss it with USCIS.

My passport had the name as:
Surname: A***********
Given name: P****
The correct name should be (since this is how I use it in the US now and it applies to all my docs here - GC, DL, school records, everywhere).

I got this corrected in the Indian passport through an "Observation" on Page 3 which states:
The name of the passport holder appearing on Page 1 has been corrected to read as:

Since this is not a "name change" as such but simply a re-alignment of the last and first names (often a source of confusion from India), I hope this is sufficient and I don't have to go through a name change to get a new passport book issued.

My wife is in F-1 status, but I�m afraid to change to F-2 right now and loose the opportunity of transfer the H1 to a new employer... unluckily finding a job has not been an easy task, since I am in Puerto Rico and here the situation is not good.
My last paystub is June 14th, and I was wondering to apply on July 2nd, but because on delays with the medicals I got trapped in the Visa Bulletin fiasco mess.
I've talked with several local lawyers and none of them has given me hopes beyond the F-2 status.
Some friends recommended to file I485, but I don't want to risk for an RFE :(
I'm trying to be strong for my family specially for my kids, the older one cries everytime he hears us talking about leaving PR.
