The Employment Based Immigration section explains how they will make a task force to prevent illegal workers from being exploited. I don't see anything for legal EB workers other than this 5 year thing which will start counting after this law is passed.
It says 5 years preceding from the date this law is enacted. Does this not mean that they will look 5 years back from the date this law is enacted?
Also i do not see them say it is for illegals only...
I do not think they would make it easier for illegals than legal residents.
I am not very optimistic about this . But i would definately like to see this pass.

USCIS has a list of colleges in their database.
So before paying money, make sure that it is worth. USCIS web site has the list, you can search and find.
If you mean the SEVIS list, that is worthless. Even TVU was listed their. Check for accreditation in U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs (http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/) . Any accredited degree (not the fake accredited ones) is good

This Tracker facility we have in IV is good. Kudos to the Admin team who implemented this thing.
These are my observations. I could be grossly mistaken. Pardon me if I am wrong.
There are approximately 26,000 people who have put in their priority dates and other such data in the tracker. When I compared similar cases, I got some 265 who were EB3 India with a priority date in 2002. That is approximately 1 %, give or take.
Here I have ignored EB3 India 2001 guys. But that number would be very less I believe.
1% of 400k is 4000 which is what USCIS issues GC for EB3 India in a year.
Does that mean I could get my GC this year.
Hope these numbers are right.

It is july 14 2007 for 'Employment-based adjustment applications'
I am finally able to look the website with May dates.
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=TSC
It is June 21, 2008 form 485 Texas base applications.
It seems they have gone back from where they were last month.

The growing no of posts on this thread seems to indicate this as a bigger problem than was thought of. I guess many people just get in here before the marriage with the plans of settling in career and then get married
But they finally end up to take a decision on choosing one
Green Card ?
or
Spouse ?

This is rather discouraging if this is true. This basically says one can't require any experience for zone IV if you require MS.
Well, MS + 11 month (but not 12) will do then, cause zone IV is has SVP "7.0 to < 8.0"
The question is then: In question 6-A on the PERM form do they mean experience including 4 yrs of MS or experience in addition to those 4? From my negative experience it looks like this number is what is used to compare with the respective SVP time, so it does include 4 yrs for MS (2 yrs for BS)
Any other opinions?

easy my friend...easy,....breathe.
yes, retrogression will remain the same for indians and chinese.....its already pretty bad for the indians. retrogression will hit ROW harder as they are current right now....atleast for EB2. let feb or march 2008 roll around then its going to get worse.
you dont have to get upset....just sit tight and watch the drama unfold.
otherwise you're welcome to fool yourself.
And, would you mind explaining why would ROW get affected? If they were current all along, all the ROW candidates must have already filed, even before july fiasco, right? So, just exactly how do they get affected?
Sorry for the outburst, but I sometimes get tired of people just throwing out speculations  as if they are stating facts. So, back up your statement with logic.

What are the chances of this bill getting passed? 10% or less? When is this bill going to be voted on? one good thing is Sen Kennedy is one of the co-sponsors and he's got some pull in the congress.

Buddy, your tone sounds hostile and as I said we're staying here by choice - but let me tell you this, after getting an MBA (with financial aid) from a decent school here, staying here for a decade, getting into upper management of a large company and having US born kids, I'm relocating to India after the summer. I've just secured admission for my first born from here and it went without a single glitch.
So, YES, I've tried it, I'm pretty darn willing to and I got a strong pair of balls!

My calls are continuing. Called all the Ds and a few Rs and I will finish calling the remaining Rs in another one hour. And this is my third round of calls.
Rep. Howard Coble's (R-NC) office would not listen to you if you are not from his district. I still insisted that my support for the bill should be noted.
I have still not updated the poll.

Maybe we need to make up a set of cards with priority dates for each EB category and have a parrot pick it up.
I think we may be able to predict much better that way. :D
