Btw, who told you that guys like punjabi and others overbid or bought a house that they cannot afford? They could and still can afford these houses i.e. the monthly mortgage payments; the only thing they cannot do in the current market is to sell it (even at the price at which they bough i.e. break even) and that is why they are stuck with it if/when they decide to move to another city/job - so no point blaming these guys. If you want to blame somebody, blame the banks who appraised the same house at 500k 2 years back which they are appraising at 400k today, there in lies the problem.
Let me try to understand your logic. You don't have money and went to bank and requested that they help you out with a loan. They give you loan based on what you bid your house and it is all their fault. If only banks had refused the loan, you wouldn't have bought the house. Is this your logic? for some reason, the pdf file is not opening....I will do the flyer posting wherever I can.....We should also probably write up a mail that can be mass mailed to recruit the many who are affected or may potentially be affcted by this issue, or whose loved ones are affected. We should also do a smart media camapaign- even try to draw attention of network programs like 20/20 or 60 minutes that have a mass impact- to the really tragic situation many ppl are in (esp. one case from the last board comes to mind- of course we have to be ultra-sensitive about privacy and other sensitivities of the individuals involved).....getting the attention of the major networks may not be as far fetched as it seems- much less worthy causes have been championed by these programs.....if we articulate it well to the producers involved, with the right mix of facts and the personal, I believe many will consider it seriously, even though immigration is a complex issue to many....like i said we shd not underestimate the american sense of fairness, and we have a very good cause where we need some of it.....it will appear dreadfully unfair to many that people who have been paying social security taxes for 5-10 years are not even allowed the security of knowing whether they themselves will be eligible for it when they need it! Based on your calculations , Experts, please let us know what to expect, if 12000 GC are released for EB2. Where will the cutoff come and stop..

12000 GCs for EB2 India and China means, with out any doubt it fetches 5 months forward movement.
But at present scenario EB2 China is at 22JUL06 and Eb2 India is at 08 May 2006.
On an average EB2 India has a demand of 1.5k per month.
EB2 China has a demand of 700 per month.
So the EB2 India moves 7 months ahead where as China moves 4 months ahead.
So both EB2 India and China will have the same Cut Off dates and it would/might be: May + 7 Months = December 2006 .
This is my assumtion.

We as a community should oppose major violation done by these consulting firms.
The only reason these companies send people on L1 is to keep them as bonded labour giving them no chance to switch jobs. These companies can always apply for H1b for such folks, there are enough H1 visas available this year.
There is a reason there are two visa categories L1 and H1. They should not be used to circumvent immigration laws.

Thats is waht they say.. But their actions always show that they are against ALL immigration. Some of us have been looking at them for a while now. As you can see, they DO NOT support the letter campaign.

Counting time after I140 approval towards citizenship proposal is already on our table for things to consider as a campaign. For Campaigns like this, we will need massive support than what we currently have. Even recent greencard holders can benefit from it.
So the first step before we undertake any big project is to get more membership base.
So let us first figure out ways in which we can get more people involved on IV. Without massive participation no campaign, letter/lobby/phonecall etc will work. We need to really go out of our way and spread the word around so that everyone that is stuck in this immigration mess can join this movement.
I know IV is just for employment based, but I believe other categories of people also are victims of "Adjustment Of Status" delays and they will and can benefit from this proposal. I guess a broad based coalition is possible. There are people with political muscle that benefit from this development (Latino Votes).

Perhaps something as simple as the florist's confirming delivery address etc?

Why is everybody so happy? He has just briefly and curtly informed in the message that flowers will be forwarded. They won't be sitting on my desk and embarrasing me. There is no acknowledgement of the issue or any empathy or compassion with the sufferers. Now even the press coverage will make USCIS director look good. I don't see what's the positive development here.
They probably tried to pass the irritant to someone else. If USCIS continues receiving flowers, and therefore passing them on, one day even the soldiers will say "No thanks!". Then they will pass them on to someone else. But for how long?
I think this campaign will NOT lose its effect-- as long as we are persistent. Ideally, we should continue sending flowers at least so long as it does not become a MUCH talked about issue in the print and radio and TV media. My humble opinion.

Its good to hear from ppl that they got an Yellow form from Infopass etc... I have been to San Jose USCIS office multiple times asking for status.... I just don't receive any concrete information from them...Infact, they are even hesitant to create an SR to request an update...

I had an SR open for which i got the response as wait for 60-90 days and case is in the process of review.

Called the NCSC and they also tell me to wait for 30-60 days....
What other things can we do to actually get our case picked up?

last i checked - there are plenty of flights between JFK/Newark and all major cities including Boston.
also - all airlines work on a hub and spoke arrangement

One thing to realise is that direct point to point flights will take a while, and even then there is no guarantee that you will want to fly it because it may not be economical or convienient.
And the absence of point-to-point flights has more to do with the airlines following a hub and spoke model than with any government restrictions. Point to point flights were identified as a core part of Boeing's product strategy only recently. The situation should improve over the next few years as airlines take delivery of new models, but until then we are stuck with the hub and spoke arrangement.
We were very satisified with Continental even though we flew Seattle->Newark->Mumbai.

No disrespect to Al-Jazeera. But putting our story on that channel is not a good idea. People view anything on it with lot of suspicion, and Fox news interprets everybody Al-Jazeera sympathizes with as you know what.
Don't come after me for saying this, its not my opinion. But general opinion that I have observed from people who are not well informed(read majority of people). Lets focus on the main stream media in US, outside coverage is not that significant anyway.

Hi everyone,
I have 2004 W2 but cant seem to find my tax return. I have 2003, 2005, 2006tax returns but not 2004. What can I do to get that return. Please any advice will be nice.

My lawyer only asked for the W2 ans tax returns for the last two years. I think the latest two to three years shall be sufficient unless USCIS asks for all specifically.
Are there any instructions specifically asking for W2s and returns for all years of your stay ? or every one is including all they have just to be safe.
